Lisa Maes

I teach K4 at CWA; this is my second year teaching Kindergarten. When I’m not working in the classroom, I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, cooking, traveling and shopping.

As your child’s teacher, it is my hope that his or her educational experience be filled with personal growth as a thinker and learner. I look forward to working together as a team to provide your child with adequate social and academic skills.

As a teacher, Ms. Maes promises to…

M is for mission. I will provide my students with the necessary skills to become lifelong learners.

S is for sharpening the saw. I will strive to maintain a healthy balance in my life.

M is for management. I will educate with patience, using love and logic.

A is for achievement. I will motivate and challenge my students to achieve their personal best.

E is for enthusiasm. I will maintain a positive attitude and a sense of humor.

S is for synergize. I will work cooperatively with fellow staff members and parents, understanding that we are more effective as a team.

Classroom news

Currently, the K4 students are learning colors and shapes. They have also begun learning the upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet as well as the sound each letter makes. Our daily schedule includes reading, writing, math, calendar/weather, read-alouds and music and movement. We focus on science and social studies twice a week and complete two art projects in addition to art class. Our specials consist of gym, library, art and computer lab.

On Tuesday mornings we get together with our fourth-grade book buddies to read stories, practice our math concepts and complete art projects. We also get together for celebrations through out the school year.

I want to thank all of the K4 families for their support; I look forward to a very successful school year!
